During their trip through Europe an expert group of the Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine (CAIQ) was visiting their project partner Imprint Analytics in Neutal.

General manager Bernd Bodiselitsch and his team, as well as Neutal´s mayor Erich Trummer, welcomed the delegation and gave presents as a souvenir of their visit to central Burgenland. Members of the Chinese delegation included the Deputy Director-General of the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Head of Department for the Application of Critical Control Point Risk Assessment (HACCP) and for the investigation of imported products.

„China is fighting against the same problems in the context of food fraud like us in Europe, e.g. adulteration of coconut water or mislabeling of premium products” reveals general manager of Imprint Analytics Dr. Bernd Bodiselitsch.

The cooperation between Imprint Analytics and the inspection team of the CAIQ started with a workshop in Beijing in April 2018, where Imprint Analytics could convince with many years of experience and expertise in the analytical testing of food.

In order to export goods to China different documents and proofs are required. In addition, the imported goods are randomly checked for falsification by means of analytical tests.

Key account manager Dipl-Ing. Christina Kustor explains the importance of this cooperation:  „For us it is crucial, that our customers are supported optimally for their export and that the methods we us for the verifications we provide are methods which are also recognized by the inspection authority in China.”

The aim is also to jointly develop new analytical methods for checking origin and authenticity of food.

After the laboratory tour, Imprint Analytics and CAIQ visited the superfood producer Schalk Mühle in Ilz, Styria.
